Role:

3PL Central is seeking an experienced, data savvy DevOps engineer to join our new business intelligence product team in American Fork, Utah. This is a chance to be part of a new team tasked with architecting, developing, and deploying a new data platform that will deliver actionable data insights to our customers in the 3rd party logistics space. In other words, this opportunity has all the coolness of a new startup with the stability of an established company and a customer base that is eager for data products.

What you will have achieved in a year:

  • Deployed a world-class, cloud-native, highly scalable data platform
  • Create a robust innovation infrastructure that facilitates agile data product development
  • Established tools and process for continuous integration/continuous delivery

What you will do:

  • Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management
  • Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning
  • Handle code deployments in an IaaS (e.g. AWS, Azure) environment
  • Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve
  • Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards
  • Be an open advocate for operations and the DevOps model
  • Create functional and operational automation and orchestration system requirements and specifications
  • Partner with neighboring teams in designing, testing, deploying and operating highly scalable automation frameworks and solutions
  • Design and implement tools/systems to scale and automate operations tasks
  • Execute proofs of concept using cutting edge technology

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • 5+ years of experience in data intensive DevOps
  • Degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Experience configuring, administering, and deploying to an IaaS (Azure, AWS, etc.)
  • Scripting experience, preferably Python
  • Linux configuration, administration and scripting
  • Experience with container technologies and tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker
  • Basic data analysis using scripting skills for data troubleshooting
